There are two types of Online dating scams:
- Random Rapid Scams (quantity over quality) :
- email threats
- tech support scam
- fake link for phishing data
- call spoof
- voice phishing
- job scam
- fake check
- sell fake product
- Pig Butchering/Romance Scams playing the long game to gain trust (quality over quantity)
- meet someone online as a friend or potential lover
- move off social app
- act like real companion
- gain trust to make you invest in something crazy
- crypto, stock, task (all fake)
If you are lonely and desperate for connection, you let your guard down. And suddenly you got scammed and you don’t even want to admit it because you believed the relationship was real.
The government can’t cure gullibility and greed. No matter how many warnings there are, people still fall for it. People’s families tell them they’re being suckered and they don’t believe it. If the government is involved people will say the government isn’t allowing them to talk to the love of their life.
Be aware of scams and If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
